If Bluetooth is not a priority, the Nano S Plus gives you the same CC EAL5+ secure element as the $149 Nano X for half the price. It is the most sensible entry into hardware wallet security for most people, as long as you are comfortable with Ledger's closed-source firmware and have read about the Ledger Recover situation.
